Background
For a very long time our ancestors had to rely solely on the light from the sun, the stars, the moon and lights from the thunder. Gradually we learned how to control light from fires, gas and finally electricity.
The rapid development of light has had a major impact on us humans. Before the arrival of artificial light our day and night cycles were almost never changed. But now with the vast amount of light radiation from every corner we are no longer controlled by the natural day and night cycle. Big cities also have a lot of light pollution which has affected our night vision.
Brief
Develop a full scale, working luminaire to be placed in a public environment supporting the notion of “darkness design” and by utilizing the 1W LED as efficiently as possible. With consideration of the transition from day to night.
